Built Environs (head client BHP Billiton) | 2008

Many large components for platforms and agitator frames on top of the leach tanks involving complex welding and surface treatment techniques. Due to the highly corrosive site environment, a high degree of accuracy and surface finish was necessary. Approx 200t of highly complex and extensively scrutinised fabrication and finishing work with associated quality control procedures, documentation, traceability, paint testing and mapping etc. We were able to maintain our tight schedule largely because of our in-house control over surface finish using the tricky PS21 system (Roxby Red Polysiloxane) . Our large climate controlled painting room ensured that each room full of components could be held at the necessary temperature to guarantee an overnight cure, even during the coldest winter periods.
